Mr. van Tetering began his career in 1970 with his own company and has been a life-long entrepreneur in the agriculture business as well as an investor in several other industries, including residential and commercial real estate.
In 1984 he established a trading and storage company on his farm, taking advantage of arbitrage opportunities created by the seasonality of the agriculture sector. Given the energy consumption of the storage company, he sought out alternatives, beginning with two small wind mills for self-generation and, over the years, he extended his investments into wind farms, migrating to direct investment in utilityscale projects.
