Roy M. Kolader

Managing Director & Board Member

Roy Kolader began his career in marketing in Suriname and served as  the Consul General of the Republic of Suriname in Amsterdam to Holland from the mid-1980 to early 1990's.

After a stint as the European representative for Global Trade Links, Inc., responsible for the Caribbean and Latin America, he joined DELTA Caribbean as the Managing Director in Curacao for the subsidiary of one of Holland's largest multi-utilities. DELTA Caribbean was the Caribbean's leader in the development, ownership, operation and management of wind farms prior to NuCapital's purchase of all operating assets in April 2009. Under his leadership, it was active in a variety of management and business development services in the field of wind power generation in Central and South America and the Caribbean. In 2003, Kolader joined the Steering Committee of the Caribbean Community and Common Market ("Caricom") for Caribbean Renewable Energy Development Program, representing the private sector in the region.  In addition, he has served on the Board of the Latin America Wind Energy Association (LAWEA) and chairs the Advocacy and Outreach Work Committee. Over the past fifteen years he has led the development of wind farm projects in Honduras, Jamaica, Guyana, and Colombia. DELTA Caribbean developed and built Curacao's first utility-scale wind farm of 9 MW in 2000 at Playa Kanoa, which was repowered in 2012 and is now owned and operated by NuCapital Inc. and has at one of the world's highest capacity factors.

His educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Business Economy from the University of Applied Science in Groningen in The Netherlands. His continuing leadership on Caricom's renewable energy initiatives and as a corporate member of regional wind energy organizations such as the Latin American Wind Energy Association is uniquely complementary to the experience and skill sets of NuCapital's professionals. From 2012 through 2024, Roy served as a member of the Supervisory Board of CIBC First Caribbean International Bank Curaçao. He continues to reside in Willemstad, Curaçao.
